vickers m17 trinocular photography unit
a classic microscopy system designed for photomicrography. as it stands the unit is equipped for film use but could of course be adapted for digital use. all original vickers including the 35mm camera back, parallax focusing system and exposure control unit.. of particular note is the integral support unit that attaches to the back of the stand (and is removable).
microplan vickers objectives x4, x8, x10, x40 and x100(oil) with x10 widefield eyepieces. the microscope unit has a large mechanical stage with drop down coaxial controls and the signature smooth coaxial coarse and fine vickers focus control.
the photography system includes the exposure control unit that obtains feedback from the photosensor attached to the side of the parallax focusing system. this allows adjustment for film speed and the type of preparation being used. a simple button press then exposes the film and winds on. the microscope trinocular head unit also incorporates an intensity equaliser system to balance the light between the binocular viewing tubes and the trinocular camera tube. 12v 100 watt illumination
