a wonderful set of 72 all papered early victorian slides in a variety of colours and patterns. three are dated 1873 and 1875. a full range of subject matter including wholemounts of butterfly wings, bird feathers and crystal preparations for the polarscope. particularly notable are the transverse section of the foetal arm, lion hair and fossil shark tooth. the set is contained in an oak slide box with hinged front and lid. 12 slide trays with positions for 6 slides stored flat on each.
