this is a rare opportunity, one of the definitive inverted biological microscopes at an exceptional price. the diaphot was engineered for functional performance and reliability, its solid die-cast body has a low centre of gravity. the diaphot has a built in binocular body and  therefore only one reflective surface that optimises image contrast. the light path can be switched between 199% or 80/20% with a single lever. a second lever selects either the front port for 35mm photography or the side port for cctv. built into the binocular head is a focusing bertrand lens for the alignment of the phase annular rings, and a dark slide position is incorporated to cut off stray light from the optical system during time lapse photography. the diaphot is supplied with a high efficiency 12v 50watt halogen light source.

the condenser mount is central and can be raised out of the way to accommodate large roller bottles. it is focused by a heavy duty rack and pinion system. objectives x3.2  and x6.3 semi plan zeiss. x40 dl lwd with coverslip correction collar, x10 eplan dl and x20 plan dl. x10 widefield eyepieces. photographic capability is built into the optical system. focusing and composition is simple and accurate through the binocular head. a rare opportunity. the price includes delivery and installation within mainland UK.
